Milan December 1, 2021 – To celebrate Christmas, Hines lights up and colors the city and its symbolic places.
From the Velasca Tower, via della Spiga and the Quadrilatero della moda, all the way to San Siro. A homage to the differences and the people who have helped to enliven (in the worlds of fashion, design, art, food, sport and sustainability) the city of Milan – more and more a symbol of rebirth and resilience worldwide
The Velasca Tower, one of the key players in Milan’s history, changes part of its look through the work of Francesco Poroli, illustrator and professor at the most prestigious schools of arts and design such as IED, NABA and Domus Academy, will physically and virtually dress the tower, visible to all the Milanese until December 5th. Poroli will also design a digital advent calendar for the Instagram page @torrevelascaofficial, giving a special guide to experience Milanese Christmas through illustrations that will reveal the secrets of the city’s traditions.
In an ongoing dialogue with the city and its different identities, Hines’ creative hub, Spiga 26, will light up the Quadrilatero della Moda’s windows starting from December 6th. This will be realized by the video animation installation project,Merry Different Christmas, through a series of evocative artistic interpretations and 3D video animations.
Also in the heart of the Quadrilatero della Moda, in partnership with Associazione degli Amici di Via della Spiga, Hines has contributed to the lighting of the illuminations in Via Gesù to confirm its commitment to support the Municipality of Milan. The decorations are also placed on the facade of the Scuola Media Gaetano Negri of Municipio 7, which, on November 6th, took part in the Progetto Scuole, Futuriamo – Disegnando il domani, promoted by Hines in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan.
Christmas by Hines is a wish to the community, and Spiga26 becomes a catalyst of Milanese identities for a holiday that celebrates the value of plurality.
